Labelling and sticker application are an essential step in the packaging chain, combining identification, regulatory compliance and on-shelf presentation. We manage the entire packaging label application cycle, from layout preparation through printing and in-line application.

Integration with filling and cartoning lines ensures data synchronization (batch, expiry date, serial number) and reduces the errors typical of disconnected operations.
Depending on the substrate and the required speed, we apply labels to flat or cylindrical surfaces using wrap-around, top/bottom or front/back systems. For pilot batches, delicate products or challenging surfaces, we provide manual stations that replicate the control standards of automatic lines.
Technology, traceability and quality control
TECHNOLOGIES USED
The labelling stations are equipped with industrial printers and configurable applicators, supported by machine-vision systems for in-line verification of the presence, position, alignment and legibility (OCR/OCV) of the data. Key parameters (application torque, temperature for thermal labels and roller pressure) are monitored to ensure lasting adhesion.
Every event is recorded in the traceability register: printer, reel, operator, date/time, batch and inspection result. In the event of non-conformity, the item is automatically rejected and the system requests operator validation, preserving workflow continuity and end-to-end traceability. This approach enables rapid audits and facilitates recall management whenever required by the customer’s procedures.
Packaging label application covers a wide range of formats:
- coated paper labels;
- PE/PP;
- recycled materials;
- transparent or matt finishes;
- permanent or removable labels;
- tamper-evident labels.
The treated surfaces include plastic or glass bottles and jars, folding cartons and doypacks, trays and flow packs.
When the destination is modern retail, we align layouts with GS1 standards for EAN/UPC and DataMatrix codes, ensuring suitable contrast and quiet zones. For healthcare supply chains or medical devices, we manage extended data fields and serialisation, using on-demand or pre-printing processes according to the stability of the master data.
Operational efficiency, safety and sustainability
Cycle design aims to balance speed and accuracy. Automatic lines achieve high throughput with rapid set-ups between format changes, while manual workstations provide flexibility for low-volume SKUs.
Materials may include solutions with recycled content or low-migration adhesives, in line with customer requirements. The combination of digital controls and visual inspections reduces waste and rework, improving OEE and supply consistency.
For complex projects, we coordinate kitting and the preparation of countertop/floor-standing displays, aligning labelling and sticker application with launch schedules and outbound logistics.
